To the George Mason University Community,

The Mason Police are giving notice of a recently reported sexual assault (fondling) that may pose a serious or continuing threat to campus safety:

At 6:59 AM on Thursday, September 12, 2019, Mason Police became aware that at approximately 1:00 AM on Thursday, September 12, 2019, an unknown male subject approached a female student on Patriot Circle (near President’s Park in the direction of Sandy Creek Transit) and groped her buttocks and then ran away.

A limited description of the male subject is as follows: a male of undetermined race with a dark complexion, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing all black clothing.

The Mason Police are actively investigating this incident. REPORTING SEXUAL VIOLENCE ON CAMPUS

Members of the Mason community are encouraged to report all crimes and suspicious persons or incidents, however minor, to Mason Police immediately at (703) 993-2810 or 9-1-1.

  • *Student Support and Advocacy Center: Provides students impacted by sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking with a confidential space to discuss their reporting options and get support.   • Counseling and Psychological Services: Provides confidential mental health services to currently enrolled and registered students in both emergency and non-emergency situations.
