Timely Warning Notification September 14, 2016

Timely Warning notifications are released by the George Mason University Department of Police & Public Safety (Mason Police) to alert the campus community about crimes that pose a serious or continuing threat to safety. These public notifications are intended to enable campus community members to protect themselves.
To the George Mason University Community,
Mason Police is giving notice of a just-occurred aggravated assault/hit and run incident that may pose a serious or continuing threat to campus safety.
On Wednesday, September 14th, 2016, at 2:24 PM, Mason Police was notified by the City of Fairfax Police that a Mason student walking near the Student Townhouses (4262 Chain Bridge Rd, Fairfax, VA, 22030) was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. It is believed that the vehicle may have purposely struck the pedestrian. The victim was immediately transported to Fairfax hospital and is being treated for injuries.
- Be cautious of a small, black sport utility vehicle (SUV), occupied by two people, driver is wearing an orange colored shirt.
- Mason Police will update the community once more information is available.
