Mason Alert: Police Investigation Continues Campus will Resume Normal Operations

Police are continuing to investigate reports of a robbery near Masonvale on the Fairfax Campus at approximately 4:30 a.m. today. The university will resume normal operations and you are no longer asked to remain in a secure location; this direction was given out of an abundance of caution.

The two suspects sought in connection with this crime have not been apprehended; however, detectives believe they are no longer on campus. A heavy police presence will remain on the Fairfax Campus while this investigation continues.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. this morning, two men, one white and one black, wearing dark clothing displayed a hand gun and physically assaulted an individual at the intersection of Staffordshire Lane and Patriot Circle. The suspects took the individual’s wallet and cell phone and fled north on Patriot Circle on foot.
