Mason Alert: George Mason University Closed Tuesday February 17th

On Tuesday February 17th, classes are cancelled and administrative offices are closed across all campuses of George Mason University due to inclement weather.

The university will provide updates, if necessary, on Mason’s operating status via Mason Alert. Please visit, call 703-993-1000, and read Mason Alerts for the latest information. A decision regarding the university’s operating schedule for Wednesday January 18th will be announced no later than 5:30 a.m. that morning; however, it is anticipated that the university will resume normal operations on Wednesday.

University Events: university events may be postponed or cancelled. Please check with the event coordinator or event website for more information. Allow additional travel time to and from campus and plan activities accordingly.

Mason Shuttles: shuttle service is suspended today Tuesday January 17th.

Parking and Transportation: students and employees may park in Shenandoah and Rappahannock parking deck for the duration of the storm. Parking deck fees and pass requirements are suspended until 11:00 p.m. today. Employees and students should return their vehicles to the appropriate parking areas after 7:00 p.m. tonight, Tuesday February 17th. Normal parking rules will be in effect 7:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Patriot Center and Center for the Arts: events hosted at these facilities may be postponed or cancelled. Please call the Patriot Center Box Office at 703-993-3000 or the Center for the Arts Box Office at 703-993-8888 for scheduling information.

Prince William Campus Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center:  visit to confirm operating hours.
